Gas Prices Hit $5 a Gallon in Southern California

Gas prices across the nation are back on the rise, as the 2012 election-season plunge comes to an end. In Southern California, gas prices rose yet again, leaving some drivers to pay over five bucks a gallon. CBS2 News reports:

… the average price of a gallon of gas in the Los Angeles-Long Beach area climbed for the 25th consecutive day to $4.29 – over 50 cents higher than last month, according to the Automobile Club of Southern California.

One gas station in downtown Los Angeles was offering regular unleaded at $5.19 on Monday, prompting at least one potential customer to exit his vehicle, snap of a photo of the station’s prices – and then drive off in search of cheaper gas.

The nationwide average has spiked to $3.73 a gallon, while consumers paid only $3.30 a gallon just on month ago. Now, Orange County residents are forking out a whopping $4.28 at the gas pump.

Obviously, this can’t all be dumped on Obama. More So, I’d say, we should slam the environmental degenerates at Green Peace and the Sierra Club, who seem to think job growth and reasonable energy prices translates into catastrophe.

They’re still protesting the Keystone XL pipeline. They’re also whining about hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, which could single handedly make the United States the number one oil producer, unseating Saudi Arabia by 2017, according to the International Energy Agency.

They can enjoy their bicycles and public transportation, but leave everyone else the hell alone. What about the poor? Is $5-a-gallon gasoline benefiting all those minimum wage earners? If Obama and the Dems want to act like they care about the lower class, maybe they should avoid policies that actually hurt the lower class.
