The War on Guns is still holding the spotlight. And according to Obama, Joe Biden is General of the White House’s gun control agenda — a thought almost as scary as a psychopath with an M16.
Rather than using the traditional legislative process, the Vice President said today, Obama “is going to act” by executive order, possibly without Congress’ blessing. Biden admitted to reporters that “executive orders” may be the only avenue for the administration to regulate firearms.
“There are executives orders, there’s executive action that can be taken,” Biden affirmed. “We haven’t decided what that is yet. But we’re compiling it all with the help of the attorney general and the rest of the cabinet members as well as legislative action that we believe is required.”
As the Weekly Standard notes, Biden stressed the importance, in his view, of taking action to curb gun violence. He also said that he is convinced that the government “can affect the well-being of millions of Americans and take thousands of people out of harm’s way” — pending officials “act responsibly.”
Seems to be a common theme for this administration: “Screw the legislative process, I have an agenda to push.”
