Today, Hillary Clinton took the stand to testify on the Benghazi terrorist attack that left our U.S. ambassador to Libya dead, among other U.S. forces. She took responsibility for the security lapses in Benghazi but championed the response from the State Department and other federal agencies.
She asserted that the attacks “are part of a broader strategic challenge to the United States and our partners in North Africa” because of the violent extremism taking part in the region.
Mrs. Clinton composed herself well. No temper tampers, but at times she got heated. Of course, these charades always get at least somewhat heated, considering the defendant is getting grilled for some sort of tragedy or a severe lack of competence.
From what I’ve seen so far, Rand Paul seemed to hit her the hardest, going so far as to say that if he was President she would be canned. He proceeded to question her on the U.S. selling weapons to other countries in the area, as he specifically highlighted Turkey. She acted befuddled. Whether her display of beffudlement was nothing more than a Hollywood act is up for us to decide.
