Using a catastrophe to push an agenda. That’s what Obama and the Democrats have been doing ever since the horrific school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut. But gun control is an emotional reaction, not a sensible one.
Sure, guns ocassionally become mediums to a person’s death. However, evidently the NRA’s pro-gun ideology is less fatal than Home Depot’s murderous product line.
That’s right, according to FBI statistics, in 2011 there were 173 more deaths caused by hammer assaults than rifle assaults.
Oh, what to do! Banning hammers altogether, I believe, may be a little extreme. Instead, I say we make it so a hammers’ handle does not exceed six inches. Less range might curb the number of deadly impacts.
We need to focus on the real problems, people.
