Bill Clinton Speech at Democratic National Convention

Bill Clinton spoke last night at the Democratic National Convention. While I’m die-hard political, I’m even more die-hard football, so I missed it. And now I’m playing catch up.

From what it appears, Clinton’s chief pitch was blasting the Republican Party for handing a calamitous economy over to Obama. And because the GOP screwed up in many areas (spending queens), apparently, that somehow means we should, regardless of his competency, keep a spendthrift Democrat in office.

Here’s a small dose of his speech: “My fellow Americans, you have to decide what kind of country you want to live in,” Clinton affirmed. “If you want a you’re-on-your-own, winner-take-all society, you should support the Republican ticket. If you want a country of shared prosperity and shared responsibility — a we’re-all-in-this-together society — you should vote for Barack Obama and Joe Biden.”

More: “Here it is: He inherited a deeply damaged economy, put a floor under the crash, he began a long hard road to recovery and laid the foundation for a modern, more well-balanced economy that will produce millions of good new jobs, vibrant new businesses and lots of new wealth for innovators.”

Here’s another snippet:

Predictable speech. But it sure gives a hell of a lot of credence to the Obama team.
