Mohammed Morsi, Muslim Brotherhood Wins Egypt’s Election, Beats Shafiq

That’s pretty much the story for now. Mohammed Morsi, anĀ Islamist with the Muslim Brotherhood, has won Egypt’s first free elections. It was a very narrow margin, with Morsi beating his contender Ahmed Shafiq — the previous prime minister under Hosni Mubarak — 51.7 percent to 48.3 percent.

Not sure who in their right mind would vote that kind of despotic power into political office.
