Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett’s Tuesday victory in the Wisconsin Democratic primary spawns a rematch between him and Gov. Scott Walker. It will be a battle over labor, I presume. Barrett will be fighting to recruit the unions, while Walker will be fighting to defend his valiant efforts to beat the public sector’s obscene collective bargaining practices.
So far, it’s a close matchup:
A recent poll shows Walker and Barrett right beside eachother with a mere 4 percent voters undecided. Overall spending on the race is projected to reach $80 million.
It will be interesting to see the impact the labor debacle will have on the national level. Of course, it’s obvious where Obama will lean — just look to where the campaign dollars flow from.
