Obama chose against issuing an executive order to ban employment discrimination against LGBT workers by federal contractors. This, of course, snubs his gay supporters. But it’s not like they’re voting Republican anyway.
The order had been under consideration by Obama and had been reviewed by Justice and Labor Department officials… But White House officials decided to hold off, at least until after the presidential election, these people said.
Because it’s too politically controversial. Not because forcing a contractor to retain an employee — for any reason — is tyrannical or unconstitutional.
