Last Friday Obama signed a new Executive Order which grants the President unbounded control over all U.S. resources in times of war or emergency.
If this were Dubbya, the crap would be hitting the fan.
Specifically, the Executive Order states:
Section 101. Purpose. Delegates authorities and addresses national defense resource policies and programs under the Defense Production Act of 1950…
(b) assess the capability of the industrial and technological base to fulfill requirements in peacetime and times of national emergency, evaluating the availability of the most critical resource and production sources, including subcontractors and suppliers, materials, skilled labor, and professional and technical personnel.
Using “war” or “national emergency” to channel complete authority over to a nation’s executive: The near-verbatim definition of fascism.
Rahm Emanuel’s infamous quote has become the poster-child for this administration: “Never let a good catastrophe go to waste.”
